In the future I would like to donate. Why in the future? Currently I am not working, I dedicate myself only to my university studies, I am studying my first year. As soon as I finish my BA, I would like to introduce myself to an advertising-related job. When I have my first salary I would like to donate 25% of it, in the long term I would like to donate monetarily 15% of my annual earnings, but I would also like from now on to be able to help with my time and disposition. All my experience in high school was very much related to the visual arts, as I studied at the Central High School of Visual Arts. I would like to support entities related to culture and art for this. But they should specifically serve the education of art and culture to children and the ageing. From an organization aimed at culture and art, I hope you will promote the values of respect, love, kindness, trust, fraternity, freedom, tolerance, justice and responsibility.
What is a Giving Goal?
Often, the idealism of youth is lost as one achieves success and acquires material possessions later in life. What was originally considered to be “enough” or even “beyond my wildest dreams” can become just another milestone on one’s quest…
Capturing your current vision of how you wish to give of yourself and your resources in the future could help you plan to give more meaningfully. Revisiting this vision in ten or twenty years could provide a reminder of the ideals of your youth that may shape or re-shape your future actions.
If you have already posted your Giving Goal and would like to update your email for future reminders, please contact [email protected]

I realize I have a mission within my surrounding communities to help the world little by little and with the compromise to be an instrument of philanthropy for the next several years.

Building Together a Future of Generosity and Service In a world filled with opportunities to make a difference, economic challenges can seem like unyielding barriers. However, I believe that the desire to help knows no bounds. At this stage of my life, as I complete my bachelor’s degree in strategic communications at Sacred Heart University, I have delineated my short-, medium- and long-term philanthropic goals, adapting them to my economic and professional reality. In the short term, I am devoting my energy to volunteerism, particularly with the National Federation of the Blind of Puerto Rico. In this organization, I not only participate as a member, but also have the honor of serving as a board director. These responsibilities allow me to make a meaningful difference, even without the support of financial resources. In addition, I am exploring the possibility of joining Equino terapia Puerto Rico, a noble cause that provides therapeutic support through the use of horses to children, youth and adults, fostering their personal growth and the development of skills and abilities. In the medium term, I aspire to expand my involvement in more charitable organizations, both locally and internationally. As a Panamanian, I feel a deep calling to reconnect with my roots and support entities in my home country, such as Make a Wish and the Children’s Leukemia and Cancer Foundation. My previous experiences in these places have shown me the transformative impact that organized collaboration can have on people’s lives and inspire me to continue working on these and similar initiatives. In the long term, when my work situation allows, I plan to commit to contributing financially on a regular basis to these organizations. My goal is to donate a minimum of 10% of my gross monthly income, distributing this support among various organizations that require significant support to ensure a continuous and effective impact. Lack of financial resources has not deterred my aspirations or my actions. These commitments are not just temporary goals; they are a reflection of my deepest values. Through them, I hope not only to transform the lives of others, but also to inspire more people to reflect on how, regardless of their financial situation, they can contribute meaningfully to the well-being of our global community.

With a deep-rooted belief that nothing I have is truly mine, I pledge to give of my time, talent, and treasure diligently, strategically, and eagerly to serve others in my community. I pledge to consistently listen to the needs of others, and I will not let the process of analysis hinder me from taking action. By splitting my money between personal accounts and a giving account, I will give of the first 10% of my income to organizations that I have vetted for effectiveness in accomplishing their mission and use of funds. Additionally, I will volunteer at the organizations I give to. Annually, I will review the percentage of my income that I give, the organizations that I give to, the effectiveness of my previous gifts, and the process by which I give. I will aim to establish a giving circle among my tribe to create accountability in giving amongst friends.

Throughout my giving journey, I want to keep a clear lens for why I give. Foremost, so many generous people have made beautiful gifts of time, talent, and treasure to help me as I grow up. Secondly, working to help others is the most purpose giving choice I can make. Financially, for the first couple of years, my goal is to allocate 5% of my first income to giving. I will do this by saving in a separate account so that when I see a need that must be filled, I can have the resources to make a change. By five to ten years out of college, I want to build up to a 10% combination of my time, talent, and/or treasure. One avenue could be to give my talents as a board member. Most importantly, I want to be intentional about dedicating myself to a couple specific causes over the long term for most of my giving. Additionally, I do want to allocate a portion to my community’s most pressing needs at the time. I will approach these gifts by asking what the cause needs. Each year, I will reflect and follow up on the impacts being made. I hope to keep an open conversation with my family about giving to hold myself accountable to make an impact on the world.

My personal philanthropy goal is threefold: to allocate my financial resources, my time, and my skills and talents that I will obtain in college to charitable endeavors that resonate with my values and aspirations. I would like to allocate 5% of my treasure as soon as I graduate with my Master’s degree and earn my first paycheck. To make up for my lack of financial contribution during my schooling, I would like to donate 5% of my time until I can donate more physical capital. There are about 4,500 waking hours in a year. I plan on volunteering for around 225 hours per year. By committing a portion of my treasure, once I am financially able, I aim to support organizations and initiatives that strive to make a tangible difference in areas such as education, child development, and child welfare. As I am getting a Masters in Education, I plan on using the information I have learned in my program to contribute my knowledge to nonprofit organizations., whether this be hands-on volunteer work or serving on a board in some capacity. Simultaneously, by dedicating a portion of my time, I seek to actively engage with these causes, volunteering and participating in activities that directly contribute to positive change. Through this balanced approach, I aspire to not only give back to society but also to actively participate in and promote a culture of compassion and social responsibility to give back to those who gave to me.
