I absolutely adore children for having such curious and creative minds! I am currently on the path to become an educator, so I hope to inspire others with my passion for building better brains. Therefore, I pledge to keep that wondrous learning and creativity going for as long as I live. I am aiming to contribute 15% of my annual income to non-profit agencies that share the same love I have for the kiddoes!
What is a Giving Goal?
Often, the idealism of youth is lost as one achieves success and acquires material possessions later in life. What was originally considered to be “enough” or even “beyond my wildest dreams” can become just another milestone on one’s quest…
Capturing your current vision of how you wish to give of yourself and your resources in the future could help you plan to give more meaningfully. Revisiting this vision in ten or twenty years could provide a reminder of the ideals of your youth that may shape or re-shape your future actions.
If you have already posted your Giving Goal and would like to update your email for future reminders, please contact [email protected]
Step 1
Have a healthy and vigorous dialogue in your class on the general idea of having a personal Giving Goal as a college student.
Step 2
Set a Giving Goal concerning your future giving plans.
Step 3
Share a brief statement of your Giving Goals on The Philanthropy Lab’s portal as a way to inspire others to do the same. You may post anonymously to the public if you wish.
Step 4
Share your permanent email address and phone number with The Philanthropy Lab, for the sole purpose of the reminder mechanism, so we can remind you of your goal in 5 year increments for 20 years into the future.

For the pledge, I would like to say that I pledge to give part of my income to support the organizations that work on helping homeless animal. And I will spend time as volunteer in this area.

Being able to be the first person in family to graduate in college is truly an amazing privileged and opportunity that I have. I pledged to do whatever I can to help and give back to my community, who had supported me throughout my entire school career. I plan to give ten to fifteen percent of my annual salary to non-profits that deal with hunger, homelessness, children, education, arts, health, and families.

As a college student, I pledge to volunteer my time at least once a month with organizations that help underserved communities such as the homeless, the elderly, and people who have recently come out of incarceration. After I graduate, I plan to donate 5% of my income every month to the same types of organizations and, if I have the time, continue volunteering at least once a month.

After I get a steady job and become debt free, I pledge to donate at least 5% of my income if it’s around $30,000 or 10% if higher than $50,000. Though unlikely, if I make $100,000 or more, then I would give 20% to charity. I haven’t decided what organization to donate to specifically, but each year I donate the money can go to different nonprofits that support different areas like the arts, education, or the community.

After gradation I plan to help support organizations that promote and advocate the development of African American communities. I would love to give back to those who provide resources revolved around health, education, and personal growth for the underserved. I am not sure what percent of my income I will commit but I will continue to volunteer with various organizations and financially donate as much as possible.
