I pledge to give away at least 15% of my salary. At least 10% will be given to the local Church community in which I participate. I will give the remaining 5% or more to other Christian organizations that help to meet needs around the world, and share the love of God in a way that empowers communities and is attentive to the poor, oppressed, and marginalized. I also pledge that, every seven years, instead of receiving Christmas or birthday gifts, I will ask others to give to a non-profit(s) of my choosing. Beyond a specific monetary amount, I pledge to live a life that trusts in God’s abundant provision and gives generously out of an overflow of all He’s given me and His promise to provide. I pledge to strive to live with an attitude of “what do I need?”, “what can I live without?”, and “how could this be used or given to the benefit of another?” instead of being driven by selfish desires that privilege and benefit myself. I pledge that I will be willing to be inconvenienced and live with less in order to model the love of Christ to others, and in solidarity with the poor and oppressed in the face of systematic injustice, oppression, and privilege.

I pledge to continue developing my world view to be one that is more philanthropic, loving, and generous. I pledge to develop this in three realms: church, community, and career. Regarding the church, I pledge to tithe 10% of my income to my church in support of its ministries. I also pledge to give my energy and gifts to the church through service in the congregation. As for the community, I pledge to be involved with local community initiatives and serve on administrative bodies to support community revitalization. I also pledge to volunteer with my future family to foster generosity and philanthropic living in them as well. Regarding my career, I pledge to encourage generosity in my coworkers and colleagues by fostering a work environment that is supportive and empowering to all. I pledge to serve the community through my career and empower those who are marginalized to be participating members of their communities. I pledge to work for organizations that don’t just give hand outs, but truly foster human flourishing.

I commit to pledge 10% of my income to giving to the Church, in accordance with the scriptural principles that are foundational in my life. I also commit to pledging an additional 5% of my income to discretionary philanthropic causes. I pledge to continually reevaluate my contributions to these causes, to ensure that my giving is efficient, sustainable, and being put towards organizations that are sound and effective. Furthermore, I pledge to make philanthropic service a priority in my time, serving consistently both in my community of faith, as well as in the community that I become a part of following graduation.

After graduating, I pledge to give regularly of both my time and money. I pledge to give at least 10% of my yearly income to organizations in my community, no matter the size of my income. I will also give of my time and skills wherever possible to meet the needs of those around me. I pledge to volunteer regularly with at least one organization in my community focused on serving and blessing others.
