Throughout my life, I pledge to grow and deepen by interests in tackling global inequalities by continuing to educate myself in current events and actively engaging in my community. I also intend to develop my understanding of what social impact means and what it looks like, both for me and for those I serve. I pledge to always be curious and willing to learn, sharing thoughtful conversations with people from diverse backgrounds and perspectives as well as actively expanding my interests to different issue areas. With this attitude and mindset, I hope to become a better global citizen – someone who is passionate about addressing societal challenges, is aware of her role in serving society, and is in touch with the community she is a part of.
What is a Giving Goal?
Often, the idealism of youth is lost as one achieves success and acquires material possessions later in life. What was originally considered to be “enough” or even “beyond my wildest dreams” can become just another milestone on one’s quest…
Capturing your current vision of how you wish to give of yourself and your resources in the future could help you plan to give more meaningfully. Revisiting this vision in ten or twenty years could provide a reminder of the ideals of your youth that may shape or re-shape your future actions.
If you have already posted your Giving Goal and would like to update your email for future reminders, please contact [email protected]

I will live my life with the goal to give to others. I will always be improving upon my own personal giving, and will ultimately aim to better the world to the best of my abilities. I am here to help the world.

Between tithing and charitable giving, I want to commit 10% of my income to non-profits. As my career will specialize in a sector similar to my non-profit preference, I’d like to begin being involved in a non-profit in 4 years at the latest. Preferably from a board role.

I hope to give a percentage of my starting salary to effective organizations and nonprofits. I hope to stay informed about local nonprofit work and if there comes a time I am unable to give financially, I then am able to give my time to volunteering. If I am unable to give my time, I hope I will be able to compensate with more financial support. Overall, I hope I am able to find a balance between financial and volunteer support for local nonprofits and stay informed about local issues.

I pledge to donate 1% of my annual income to a non-profit I care deeply about or to my University in my first few years out of college. As I embark further into my career, I hope to steadily increase this percentage and work charitable donations into my yearly budget. Additionally, I aim to serve on the board of one or two non profits as I hope to contribute valuable experience from my professional life to improve the work of these non-profits. Ultimately, I would like to work for a non-profit or foundation.
