I hope to give both personally and financially throughout my life. I want to work in civil service and volunteer regularly and plan to donate 5 percent of my annual income. I will likely choose organizations that focus on poverty and inequality, especially among communities that have been historically discriminated against.

I commit to giving at least 5-10% of my income. I intend on giving to both local and international groups fighting to improve people’s health, economic stability, and access to human rights, taking into consideration how these groups engage with the communities they serve and their commitment to efficacy and improvement. I also commit to a lifetime of public service, through career and volunteerism.

I commit to giving 5% of my annual income once I am financially stable to local, community-based organizations that strive to improve the livelihoods of underserved populations in such a way that is sustainable and community-led. Furthermore, I also plan volunteer in areas that I am passionate about, which include improved nutrition, education, and increasing the accessibility of urban public spaces. In fact, I have become increasingly interested in sustainable and inclusive urban development and hope to work within this field in future.

I believe that the most rewarding path for me would be to volunteer early in my life, while growing my net worth. Upon achieving a net worth of $1M (if ever), I will start to give 2% of my household annual income to causes that interest my partner and myself, while starting a family fund (5% of my annual household income will go to the fund). Another pledge I feel comfortable making is apportioning a minimum of 33% of my net worth at my time of death (and/or that of my partner) to the fund for my family to donate. Should my net worth be significantly higher than $1M, then so shall this final percentage be much higher. My causes of interest which I hope to retain are education equity (education opportunities for underserved communities, scholarships, mentorship) and equal rights/opportunity. I have a strong personal interest in helping individuals who are in the same place I was (homeless or home insecure young women and men trying to rise from the lower strata of their society to something better for their families), rather than whole communities where my imprint will be diluted. I was really affected by the Golden Ladder of Giving and those who have changed my life to give me the opportunity to be where I am today.
