I promise to invest the resources in front of me, whether my time, my finances, my career, or my energy in sustainable ways. I promise to engage with problems that I am passionate about and not settle for easy answers and distancing myself from the issues. I will support organizations that are committed, knowledgeable, strategic, and driven towards hope, empowerment, and understanding. I promise that, when I have time, I will serve and when I have money, I will give generously and responsibly. I promise to have grace for people working in philanthropy and believe the best of them. I promise to give consistently and faithfully, not because I will fix the hefty problems facing society but because love demands it of me.

I pledge to use due diligence and my personal values to drive each and every philanthropy decision I make, whether that be in donating my time or my monetary gifts. I pledge to tithe monthly to my local church and volunteer in ministry there, as well as to pursue causes that challenge me to be more proximate to the hard issues that surround me, mainly poverty and immigration. I pledge to give 10-15% of my monthly salary to philanthropic causes, both in College Station where I learned the importance of this giving, and in Fort Worth where I will live in the future. I pledge to stay in touch with organizations I have worked with and to become an advocate for philanthropy to others around me. Over the course of my lifetime, I hope to give away $1 million to causes I believe are sustainable and effective, given that I have the means to do so, and to continue learning about how to be an effective giver through reading, conversations and grant-making processes. Lastly, I pledge to serve faithfully as a board member of a nonprofit should I be given the opportunity to do so.

I pledge to tithe 10% of my salary to my local church and allocate an extra 2% of my income to non-profit organizations.

I pledge to start annually donating to non-profits in the area I am living and working at. I personally feel like I won’t be able to volunteer as much as I want to. Therefore donations are a way giving can be intentional.

I pledge to give a minimum of 10% of my income to my local church no matter my financial standing, since what I have was first given to me by the Lord to be stewarded wisely for His glory. Additionally, I will be involved in volunteering with a non-profit no matter what stage of life I find myself in. If my financial situation permits, I will prayerfully steward these resources to donate to non-profit organizations both locally, domestically, and internationally. I commit myself to being an informed giver of both the issue and the organization in order to ensure my dollar is best being used to alleviate human suffering around the globe. If I am led and blessed one day to serve on the board of a non-profit organization, I plan on taking that opportunity in stride to do my part to utilize and position my life for the Lord to accomplish the greatest impact possible through me.

I pledge to give 5-10% of my annal income to organizations that I am passionate about and feel are making an important impact in our world. As for today, I challenge myself to set aside 5% of my current allowance and spending money to be donated to organizations that I care about. I also challenge myself to not only give to organization I care about, but to serve alongside them as well.
