I hope to be able to dedicate both my time and my resources to the nonprofit sector. I think it would be exciting to work for a nonprofit and contribute my professional skills. I’m particularly interested in solving local, community-level problems – I think it is important for nonprofits to fix issues politicians aren’t resolving. My future giving is probably going to reflect that belief.
What is a Giving Goal?
Often, the idealism of youth is lost as one achieves success and acquires material possessions later in life. What was originally considered to be “enough” or even “beyond my wildest dreams” can become just another milestone on one’s quest…
Capturing your current vision of how you wish to give of yourself and your resources in the future could help you plan to give more meaningfully. Revisiting this vision in ten or twenty years could provide a reminder of the ideals of your youth that may shape or re-shape your future actions.
If you have already posted your Giving Goal and would like to update your email for future reminders, please contact info@thephilanthropylab.org

I’d like to give a portion of my salary towards a nonprofit that I know is making tangible impact towards a community. Currently, I see a large benefit in donating time and money towards local charities so I hope I focus on that in the future. I see a large benefit in developing community within the nonprofit space, so I’d like to give as much time as I can to finding community and helping fight for a cause as much as I can.

For the rest of undergrad, I hope to give at least 3% of my income to nonprofits that I support. Once I’m in pharmacy school, I hope to increase that to 4% since I’ll be working more. When that’s done, I hope to give at least 10k a year away with a portion of that going to a cause that helps the education and development of youth.

My giving goal is to help children and families around the world. My childhood was surrounded by love and laughter, I was/am very fortunate to have everything I have asked for. I want to spread the love and joy I experience, so I will donate to charities involving children and families.

For my giving goal, I aspire to meaningfully give back to my community. I plan to do this by donating or investing 5â7% of my annual salary to reputable organizations that create real, lasting change. While this goal may not be immediately achievable without a steady income, I view it as a commitment Iâm preparing to fulfill. Once Iâm in a position to give, I believe it becomes my responsibility to do so. There will always be people with more than I haveâbut itâs just as important to remember those with less, and to use what I can to help lift others up.

One significant factor that I believe in my giving goal is helping international charities yearly. It could be through micro-grants, fundraisings projects, or even campaigns to educate the people about these charities. I want to make global giving and helping part of my own mission in life especially in areas regarding medical aid and relief, educational areas, and disaster relief. Even though I would be starting small, I would stay consistent and hope to make a big difference as the years go by.
