My goal is to donate 5% of my annual income for the next five years, gradually increasing to 10% over the next 10-15 years, focusing on healthcare and education. This stems from my personal experiences with healthcare assistance and my belief in the importance of accessible education. I’ll support reputable charities, set up a donation schedule, and track my progress, adjusting as necessary. I aim to contribute meaningfully to my local community wherever my career takes me, and I will share my journey to inspire others.
What is a Giving Goal?
Often, the idealism of youth is lost as one achieves success and acquires material possessions later in life. What was originally considered to be “enough” or even “beyond my wildest dreams” can become just another milestone on one’s quest…
Capturing your current vision of how you wish to give of yourself and your resources in the future could help you plan to give more meaningfully. Revisiting this vision in ten or twenty years could provide a reminder of the ideals of your youth that may shape or re-shape your future actions.
If you have already posted your Giving Goal and would like to update your email for future reminders, please contact [email protected]
Step 1

Step 3
Share a brief statement of your Giving Goals on The Philanthropy Lab’s portal as a way to inspire others to do the same. You may post anonymously to the public if you wish.
Step 4

I hope to give 20 hours of my time a year volunteering and I hope to give $600 dollars away every year.

My giving goal as I am older will be to donate to a range of different organizations that help alleviate different challenges that the community faces. I strive to be involved in the challenges present and to help bring awareness and advocate for my community. I additionally strive to encourage the people around me to be aware of the challenges we face and be involved in an organization. As I am studying to become a physician, my goal is to give 10% of my salary to different organizations after I have finished paying my student loans and helping my parents.

I pledge to contribute to nonprofits both in a hands-on and monetary capacity as I do now. I plan to donate at least 10% of my salary to nonprofits that I have researched in a thoughtful and analytical manner. These organizations will include ones who fight for queer & trans rights, reproductive rights, prison reform, and animal sanctuaries/shelters.

Once I am the age of thirty-five, I hope to be out of law school and working full time but also volunteering and helping organizations grow. Even though I want to work with non-profit organizations as a lawyer I also hope to be giving a large percentage of my income to nonprofits and participate in philanthropy. I want to give at least fifteen percent of my income to charities while also actively volunteering at charities or going to events for charity for at least 10 hours every month. I want to have three non-profits of missions that I am committed to and donate to them for a long-period of time, I also want to set aside money for donations that may come up like from friends’ kids or fundraisers for disaster relief, or unplanned things that happen and support friends. The more money I make or if I have a significant other that also makes a lot of money I will reconsider my giving plan but overall I want to do just as much giving with my time as I do with my money.
