A Child’s Place of Charlotte, Inc.

Family Advocacy Housing a child means housing a family. Through its Family Advocacy program, A Child’s Place provides parent connections to the employment, housing and education opportunities that can lead to a life of stability. Vital services also available to families include links to crisis counseling, budgeting and financial assistance plus emotional support and encouragement. Child Advocacy A Child’s Place promotes child advocacy by being the liaison between the child and the McKinney-Vento counselor. As the liaison we work to ensure each child is receiving the rights and protections the McKinney-Vento Act provides for homeless children. For example: guaranteed transportation to and from school during housing transitioning, specific and individual services are provided for any special or unique needs a child may have. We also act as community advocates by raising awareness of the growing number of homeless children throughout the community and the help and support homeless children need.
