My giving goal is to combine giving through support for local and international justice causes. I aim to donate internationally to both organizations that work to drive change and those that provide charity. I will donate once a month in a set amount of ten dollars designated to an organization that supports a cause or responds to a crisis in a country beyond my own (which is the United States at the moment, but may change in the future). This will not only consistently contribute to international causes of social justice through philanthropy, but will also contribute to my own growth of knowledge on issues and injustices faced in other countries, because in accompaniment with each donation, I will research the dedicated issue area that donations will be contributing to. In this additional research, I will not conduct a simple overview of understanding, but a deep dive into the parties affected, the historical context, impact on already marginalized groups, a victim-oriented understanding, and move with an overall holistic approach to researching the issue/crises. I have also set a more local/community impact giving goal through philanthropic volunteer work. No matter where I may be living, I will volunteer at least once a month (with an increase as time allows) at a local organization (charitable or change-based) to create a local impact on fostering justice. The combination of foreign monetary and educational contributions, as well as local direct volunteering efforts, I hope to give in both the international and community-based spheres of justice.
