My current vision for giving has more to do with giving time than money, as I am a student and most of the money I make goes towards rent, food, and saving for further education. Currently I volunteer consistently two hours per week at a local food pantry, as well as participating in a monthly prison-based book club. In the future, even when I am more financially stable and able to give money, I’d still like to be volunteering and giving back to community for at least an hour or two each week. When I am more financially stable, I would like to be able to put about 5-10% of my income, or more if possible, into philanthropy and giving.
