Recently, two young graduates of the University of the Sacred Heart, Noelanis Rodríguez and Jetzabel López, shared a remarkable initiative that seeks to generate significant social change in Puerto Rico.
What began as an academic course has transformed into a true passion for them, as they have had the opportunity to manage funds intended to support non-profit organizations.
The course offers students real-world experience in philanthropy, enabling them to decide which organizations to allocate financial resources to in order to positively impact diverse communities.
Noelanis and Jetzael worked with organizations focused on mental health and psychosocial support for children in vulnerable areas, such as the Children of New Hope organization in Sabana Seca.
This project also allowed the students to broaden their horizons beyond their traditional academic training, combining areas such as music, psychology, and business administration with a strategic and humanitarian focus.
Beyond the course, both will be ambassadors at a conference in Texas, where they will seek to raise additional funding for the organizations they support.
