14. Colectiva Feminista MAPAS (Mexico)

MAPAS was born as a cry and an embrace. We organized ourselves in response to the need and desire to be accomplices of indigenous migrant girls and adolescents by recognizing ourselves as their feminist partners who are committed to contribute to the construction of full lives for all, putting girls and adolescents at the center. After some educational and work experiences that allowed us to meet girls and adolescents from day laborer families several years ago, we decided to focus our bets with them.
Little by little, based on our knowledge and experiences, the collective and our work are getting stronger, and we are managing to accompany other girls and adolescent victims of sexual violence and orphans of feminicide in their search for access to justice and healing. In addition to influencing policies that consider the needs of girls and adolescents, especially migrants and survivors of violence. We are working for our work to be integral, supported by art and healing.

Accomplishments this past year include:
*Production and exhibition of the creative process “Girls at the microphone” (audiovisual productions with stories of girls and adolescents from day laborer families where they talk about their lives, their knowledge and their transitions) in communities of origin and destination of day laborer families.
