My approach to philanthropy is grounded in consistency, intentionality, and accountability. I want to be a reliable source of funding for organizations that may not otherwise receive sustained support. Rather than giving sporadically, I plan to dedicate a portion of my income each year, starting at around 5%, so that the organizations I support can depend on my contributions over time. My top values are empathy, justice, and responsibility. These values shape the way I think about giving. I care deeply about supporting communities that are underserved or overlooked, and I believe that philanthropy should not only respond to need but also consider fairness and long-term impact. The issue areas I am most drawn to include human rights, immigrant and refugee support, and poverty solutions. These areas reflect my belief that everyone deserves dignity, stability, and opportunity, regardless of their background or circumstances. I am especially interested in supporting organizations that work directly with communities and address both immediate needs and systemic challenges. To stay aligned with these values, I plan to focus my giving on a small number of organizations that I care deeply about. This allows me to build a stronger understanding of their work, ask thoughtful questions about how funds are used, and stay connected to the impact they are creating. I want to move beyond passive giving and instead be an engaged donor who is informed and intentional. If I find that an organization’s impact does not align with my expectations, I am willing to reevaluate and shift my support. My goal is not just to give, but to give in a way that is thoughtful, consistent, and meaningful over time.
